Les Pierres de l'Abbaye enjoys a privileged elevated spot deep in the heart of this beautiful part of the Dordogne. The area is crisscrossed by small roads, tracks and paths which invite exploration by both foot and pedal power as well as by car. In short a haven of peace yet within easy reach of all the numerous attractions of the Dordogne and those of the nearby Correze.

Les Pierres de l'Abbaye Farmhouse

The historic renovated farmhouse is offered as a large well appointed gite sleeping 12+ people with all facilities, and full central heating. Featuring 4 large double en-suite bedrooms, 2 with private lounges, and a shared terraced pool in an idyllic rural location near the famous Chateau and small town of Hautefort.

Bedroom 1: Bertrand
On the first floor, sleeps up to 4. Triple aspect with extensive views across rolling countryside, this suite comprises double bedroom, separate bathroom and private lounge, all with exposed beams, with sofa bed, satellite TV/Video and tea making facilities.

Bedroom 2: The Tower Room
Also on the first floor, with glorious views to the South and West, sleeps up to 4. Double bedroom, bathroom and lounge, all with exposed beams and furnished as Bertrand, above.

Bedroom 3: Constantine
On the ground floor, West facing room overlooking the gardens and woods, this twin bedded room has an en-suite shower room, satellite TV/video and tea making facilities.

Bedroom 4: Martha
On the ground floor, East facing room with far reaching views and overlooking the ancient courtyard and well, a double bedded room with en-suite shower room, satellite TV/video and tea making facilities.

The large Reception/Dining Room and main Lounge are situated on the ground floor. Beautifully decorated and furnished, both with open fireplaces, they offer a peaceful place to relax after a day's sightseeing. The Kitchen is modern and comprehensively equipped with range cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave etc. Beautiful 18th century building, tastefully decorated throughout with wonderful tiled floors, downstairs cloak-room, large fireplace and light filled rooms

La Petite Grange

An attractive new conversion of a small barn, offering an open plan living room with sofa bed, satellite TV/video and CD/tape player. Fully fitted kitchen area with dual fuel cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave etc.

A double bedroom and large bathroom are also on the ground floor. Stairs lead to a first floor childrens' bedroom with twin beds. La Petite Grange has electric heating making it comfortable all year round. There is a private garden with garden furniture and a BBQ, use of the pool and access to all the grounds and equipment. Ideally located in a peaceful rural area dominated by the incomparable chateau at Hautefort with its famous gardens and yet within easy reach of all facilities and local services and surrounded by the delights of this remarkable region.

All guests have open access to the pool and extensive, beautiful 9 acre estate which can be explored at leisure. Look out for the 2 marked trails which lead you around the gardens, woods and fields. Each is accompanied by interesting and informative notes to help you understand more of this beautiful and unspoiled area. In particular look out for deer, elusive wild boar, honey buzzards, kites, hoopos and the many wonderful species of butterfly common to this nature lovers paradise.

The estate also boasts an extensive array of sporting equipment, badminton, table tennis, boule, croquet etc. The huge barn is great in wet weather. Garden furniture, BBQ's and laundry facilities all available.

Due to the pool being renewed this year the booking season will begin in Mid June.

Rates range from £750 to £1400 per week (for both properties) dependent on the time of year. Shorter bookings or single property usage will be considered. Pets are not allowed.

A refundable security deposit of £200 is required. When a booking is made over 8 weeks before the start date, a 25% deposit is required. Balance of payment plus security deposit is due 8 weeks before arrival. In the event of a cancellation, a refund less 20% charge will be made if a replacement booking is made.
Arrival should be after 5pm, and the property must be vacated by 10am on the day of departure. Changeover days are Saturday.
We request that you leave Les Abbeyes in the same clean condition you found it.
