Campagnac Villa offers total peace and tranquility, surrounded by woodland and rolling countryside. Approached by a small lane winding up from the valley through the woods, a few minutes drive from the market town of Villamblard and 12 miles from the medieval town of Bergerac on the River Dordogne. The villa comprises 3 bedrooms in total; 2 double, one on the ground floor, 1 twin bedroom. A cot is available on request. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use. There are two bathrooms, one jet shower on the ground floor. There are separate toilets upstairs and downstairs. 

       

       

  

The villa is well appointed, offering every modern convenience. There is a large open plan living area with chimney and French doors leading on to the terrace and pool.

The kitchen is fully equipped. To prepare food you will find an oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster. You will also find a dishwasher, washing machine, iron and ironing board. There is cutlery, crockery, glassware and cooking utensils.

The villa has a wide screen television receiving English (BBC / ITV / C4 / C5) and French channels via satellite. There is a video (PAL system), DVD and music system, playing CDs, casettes and radio. The villa has full gas central heating and instant hot water with an air conditioning unit, if required, in the lounge.

The villa has it’s own secluded private pool for the sole use of the guests, pool side terraces and solar shower. There is a barbecue and rear shaded terrace.

The villa is surrounded by it’s own grounds, with a wood to the rear. There is ample parking within the gated entrance and outside lighting. There is no passing traffic, the lane to the property becomes a track and footpath a little way after the villa.

Close to the villa: you will find fishing, cycling, mountain biking, tennis, historic sites, a theater / cinema, shopping, a restaurant, a food shop.

Less than 45 minutes drive away: Within easy reach of the villa you will find boat hire, horse riding, golf, a museum, a zoo, a theme park.

Pays de Bergerac
The pays de Bergerac provides a wonderful combination of gentle countryside, picturesque towns and villages, fine wine and gourmet food.

The Dordogne, one of the most beautiful rivers of France, winds it’s way through Bergerac and was once of enormous importance to the region’s economy; it can be enjoyed by walks along it’s banks or taking a boat trip in a traditional gabare. The renovated old town has been restored to it’s former beauty and a pleasurable afternoon can be spent simply strolling it’s streets and relaxing in the shady squares.

The Area.
There are several good and inexpensive restaurants a short drive away, there are local markets and shopping in two supermarkets in the nearby town of Mussidan, 15 minutes by car. Villamblard, a couple of minutes away also has bank, post office, butcher, baker, general store, doctor and chemist.

You may enjoy hiring an electric boat for a river excursion in nearby Neuvic, or take a trip on the River Isle or Dordogne in a traditional gabare. Lac Jemaye is one of several lakes in the area offering a beach, children’s playground, nature trails, canoeing and pedoloes. With picnic area, restaurant and snack bar it offers a great day out.

There are several bastide towns throughout the valley of the Dordogne, the region of France which boasts the most chateaux. Perigueux, the capital of the department, with it’s cathedral and ancient city centre is half an hour away. St. Emilion and the many vineyards of the region are a must for those who wish to sample and perhaps take home some very fine wines.

A little further afield are the classic sites of the Dordogne Valley - dramatic cliff top villages, troglodyte settlements, Les Eyzies and prehistoric caves, Domme, Beynac and Castlenaud.
