The Gite du Coq owes its name to the owner’s vast collection of plates and paintings of cockerels (the French national emblem) displayed throughout the house. Located in the rue Landry, a pedestrian lane in a quiet residential area.

Accommodation.

Ground floor : fully fitted kitchen/diner with 4 ring hob, fridge/freezer, extractor fan, dishwasher, microwave, grill oven, washing machine and tumble drier, dining table and chairs.

First Floor : 1. A large beautifully appointed master bedroom retaining the authenticity of original period features to include the original fireplace and a stone sink. There is a queen size bed that can be separated to twins if desired. In this room: comfortable armchairs, a wardrobe, a low table, a flat screen cable TV, and a DVD player. The luxurious bathroom is in marble with a vanity unit, wc, shower cabin, towel drier and a hairdryer.

Second Floor : , A spacious bedroom located in the attic under the eaves of the roof. This charming room is very suitable for youngsters. It has a play/office/study area with desk and on request an extra TV can be provided. In the sleeping area are twin beds that can be made into a double bed.

Sarlat is a medieval market town and capital of the Périgord Noir. Stroll along the paved lanes of the old town or sample the Périgourdine gastronomy, amongst the finest France has to offer. Take in the hustle and bustle, the smells and noise of the market, sit at one of the cafes and watch the world go by. Sarlat has something for everyone and is a perfect base from which to set off and explore the sites and surrounding countryside. This region of south west France is steeped in history and pre-history. From the dawn of time man has left his mark in what must surely be described as one of the most beautiful parts of France.
