was
built
in
the
early
1700's
and
has
been
beautifully
restored
along
with
our
gite
“Hirondelle”,
to
a
very
high
standard.
We
also
offer
2
large
chambres
d’hotes
rooms,
both
with
en-suite
shower
rooms.
The
buildings
are
set
around
a
large
gravelled
courtyard
that
is
entered
through
an
electrically
operated
security
gate
making
the
grounds
safe
and
secure.
With
children
in
mind
we
have
ensured
that
there
is
no
direct
access
to
the
millpond
or
river. The
Large
beamed
open
plan
room,
with
beams
and
open
fireplace,
is
fully
furnished
including
a
double
bed
settee.

the

suitable

babies
is
provided.
Bicycle
hire
can
be
arranged
and
delivered
to
your
door. Our
village
of
Saint
Philippe
du
Seignal
is
only
4kms
from
the
bustling
Bastide
town
of
Ste
Foy-la-Grande,
which
offers
no
fewer
than
5
large
supermarkets.
There
is
also
a
good
range
of
shops,
restaurants
and
bars
as
well
as
an
excellent
local
market
every
Saturday.
Drive
through
lovely
rolling
vineyard
scenery
to
the
famous
Chateau
de
Monbazillac
and
the
lively
market
town
of
Bergerac.
Just
a
few
kilometres
from
the
Mill
is
the
famous
golfing
haven
of
Chateau
des
Vigiers
with
more
challenging
courses
at
Medoc
(north
of
Bordeaux
-
55
minutes).
Cycling
and
rambling
are
pleasant
pastimes
more
or
less
year
round
in
this
area,
and
of
course
the
wine-lover
is
more
than
adequately
catered
for
with
wine-growing
Chateaux
sign
posted
at
seemingly
every
minor
crossroad.

years
war
was
ended
in
nearby
Castillon-la-Bataille
(20
minutes

and
the

the
Atlantic

dune

of
the

beautiful

scenery,

historical

Bastide,

fairy

which,
as
you
will
see
from
the
picture
above,
has
been
widened
to
form
a
mill
pond
which
is
a
meter
or
so
deep
which
contains;
mirror
carp,
catfish,
perch
and
something
similar
to
roach.
There
are
many
local
lakes
and
ponds
in
the
area
which
are
stocked
with
a
variety
of
species,
including
some
big
carp
and
trout,
and
we
are
only
5
minutes
from
the
Dordogne
river
with
33
types
of
fish,
where
fishermen
are
the
only
rare
species
around.. Wine
lovers
are
more
than
adequately
catered
for
with
the
vineyards
of
Bordeaux,
St.Emilion,
Bergerac,
Monbazillac
all
close
at
hand,
offering
opportunities
for
tours
and
tasting.
