Villa Hibiscus is a beautiful Périgordine stonehouse facing southeast, with stunning views of surrounding cornfields from the bedroom window on one side and a view of the courtyard on another. Nestling in 14 acres of meadows and farmlands in an idyllic riverside setting Le Four à Sel is a beautiful collection of converted Périgordine stone buildings now offered as Dordogne villas and Dordogne bed and breakfast. Sleeps 8.

This is a bright and airy house with 4 bedrooms, separate living room. a spacious bathroom with a shower, 2 double bedrooms,1 twin bedroom, and a bedroom with a single bed (bunk beds can be provided in this room to sleep two children). Tucked away in a peaceful location, it is secluded yet only 2km from shops and the prehistoric Lascaux caves, 25 minutes from medieval Sarlat with wonderful views of lush cornfields , towering poplar trees , open countryside, and private fishing right on your doorstep. Whilst on holiday here at Le Four a Sel, you can combine beautiful French surroundings with your favourite sport: fishing, right on your doorstep. We are next to the Vézère river, where Barbel is a good catch as the river is fairly shallow and fast flowing. At the end of our property is a fish ladder and a weir. In addition to this, along the valley you will find many streams, clear and beautifully tea coloured, excellent for fly fishing.

As Dad enjoys a day’s fishing - Mum can relax under one of the walnut trees in the orchard while the children can frolic in the pool or entertain themselves with a selection of games in the two play areas onsite.

*Fishing Licenses and bait can be purchased at Montignac where even the local supermarket stocks bait
* The Vézère is replete with: trout, carp, roach, pike, perch, bream, black bass and gudgeon
* There are also several lakes nearby where one can fish, including one in Thenon just 20 minutes away with a small beach and restaurant/bar with live music during the summer
* Water parks and watersports centres near us also have lakes on their premises where one can fish

Le Four à Sel is ideal for families, with facilities on site to amuse children of all ages. Here you can truly relax, confident that your children are safe and sufficiently entertained. You can dine al fresco in the covered terrace, sip some local wine as you enjoy watching your children play safely in the covered play area just opposite. Or why not try your hand with a game of boules on our courtyard. Let the more energetic ones loose in the outdoor play area in the field equipped with swings, a climbing frame, football net, and badminton net. With 14 acres in a secluded, safe and peaceful setting, there is so much land for children to run around freely and everyone to find their own private space to relax and unwind.

We are close to many attractions & activities for children, some just 20 minutes away. So after sight seeing, you won’t have to drive too far to get back to your gite, dive straight into the pool, soak up the sun and have a siesta under the walnut trees. If you fancy a picnic, we have benches, sunloungers, table and chairs by the river where you can even try a spot of fishing. This place is ideal also for groups of families or friends wanting to holiday together as the 3 independent gites can be rented in tandem allowing you to maintain your privacy and still enjoy each other’s company whilst on holiday.
